Due to current construction projects and ongoing inclement weather, we are navigating new challenges that require extra vigilance while fulfilling our day-to-day functions across the institution. The University is committed to maintaining the safest environment for our community and construction workforce at all times, and we encourage your participation to keep our campus safe and accessible.
If you encounter or suspect hazardous or unsafe conditions, you should take immediate action to report the issue. There are three ways to report safety-related issues on campus:
1. Submit a Work Order Request and choose “Safety-Related Issue” under “Problem Type.” All orders categorized under “Safety” will receive priority and immediate attention.
2. Dial “Safety” (7-7172) during normal business hours, or GUPD (7-4343) after hours.
3. Report a hazard or repair using the LiveSafe app. From the app’s home screen, “Report Tips,” then click either “Repair Needed” or “Safety Hazard/Repair” and proceed to fill out the form with relevant information. You can also include photos and video to accompany your submission. All reports will be reviewed by GUPD and then forwarded to the Department of Planning and Facilities Management for handling. Facilities will track and respond to each submitted tip.
It is important to always be aware of one’s surroundings and use caution, particularly in construction areas. Examples of unsafe and hazardous conditions include, but are not limited to, untreated icy sidewalks, scooters or bicycles blocking accessible pathways, materials or machinery that appear misplaced, deep puddles of water, signs of rodent or insect infestations, and water stains or discoloration on walls, floors or ceilings.
As construction projects continue and winter weather nears, maintaining our community’s safety is a University priority.
